In his personal prayer to Sai in Chapter 26, what does the author surrender and what does he ask for in return?

📖 Chapter 26

In a profound act of devotion in Chapter 26, the author offers his complete self to Sai Baba. He explicitly states, "I lay my ego at Your feet; from now on, You look after Your own—there is no 'me-ness' left in me." He asks Baba to take away his body-consciousness and the concern for pleasure or pain, wanting to be moved like a puppet according to Baba's will. In return for this total surrender, the author asks for spiritual gifts: an inward-turned intellect, devotion to detachment, and the grace to personally experience the knowledge of the Self. He desires for his restless mind to find peace at Baba's feet and to be granted the natural state of union (Sayujya).
