In Chapter 21, the author mentions a personal experience in Bandra. Why did he initially refuse to visit the Siddha Pir Maulana?

πŸ“– Chapter 21

According to the author's own account in Chapter 21 of the Sai Satcharitra, he resisted visiting the famous Siddha, Pir Maulana, despite being urged to do so. At the time, he was the Magistrate of Bandra and felt that his prestige would be diminished if he went for a vision simply because others were pressuring him. He admits that he had thoughts like, "Why should I go? Should I be pressured by others and lose my own prestige?" The chapter attributes this reluctance to a period of ill-luck, stating that "One fears one's own shadow when ill-luck stands in the way," which prevented him from seeking the company of the saint for many years.
