In chapter 19, Sai Baba talks about his Guru asking for 'two paise'. What was the real meaning behind this request?

📖 Chapter 19

When Sai Baba's Guru asked for 'two paise', he was not requesting worldly money. As Chapter 19 explains, the Guru was one whose desires were already fulfilled and had no use for gold. The two 'paise' were a metaphor for the two essential virtues he expected from his disciple: Faith (Nishtha) and Patience (Saburi). By giving these two 'coins' to his Guru, Sai Baba pleased his Guru-Mother. This story illustrates that the true currency in the relationship with a Guru is not material wealth but spiritual qualities.
