While the Soul is eternally a non-doer, the text advises a practical approach to action. Chapter 8 instructs that all work done through the human body is the duty of the intellect. The recommended practice is to know your own essence as the actionless Self and consciously hand over the performance of actions to the intellect. By giving the mind's tendencies to the intellect and practicing one's own duty (svadharma), one can remain internally actionless and desireless, finding peace by meditating on the name of Ram or simply enjoying the glory of existence.
If the Soul is a non-doer, how should a person approach their actions and responsibilities in daily life?
