I read about a devotee named Kashiram who was attacked by thieves. What exactly happened during that incident and how was Sai Baba involved?

📖 Chapter 0

The story of Kashiram is a powerful example of Sai Baba's protective nature. According to Chapter 0, Kashiram was attacked by thieves who wanted a small bundle he was carrying, which they mistakenly thought contained treasure. In reality, it was just powdered sugar he carried to feed ants. He fought back fiercely but was eventually struck by an axe and left for dead. Simultaneously, in Shirdi, Sai Baba began creating a scene, shouting and showing great agitation. Devotees present understood this was his way of protecting a devotee who was in grave danger. Indeed, Kashiram was not dead; he regained consciousness and, refusing hospital care, was brought to Shirdi where he recovered by Maharaj's grace.
