I'm suffering from a long-term illness and feel hopeless. What do the accounts in Chapter 13 say about finding relief through faith in a saint?

📖 Chapter 13

Chapter 13 provides powerful examples for those feeling hopeless due to prolonged illness. It recounts the story of Dattopant of Harda, who suffered from a stomach ache for fourteen years and had tried all remedies. Upon coming to Sai Baba, he expressed his despair, stating, 'the limit has been reached; no strength is left to endure.' His relief came not from another medicine but from Baba's compassionate touch, blessings, and sacred ash (Vibhuti). Similarly, Kaka Mahajani's persistent diarrhea was cured unexpectedly. The narrative suggests that placing one's faith in a great soul and accepting their prasad can bring about healing, as 'a saint's look of love, a saint's prasad, and words of blessing' can eradicate disease.
