This is interpreted as a call to be merciful ('Daya'), give charity ('Dana'), and be self-controlled ('Danta'). This remedy is effective because it directly counteracts the nature of these faults. Sai Nath, the ocean of mercy, is said to stretch out His hand for the devotee's benefit, pulling them from the pit of greed. By practicing giving with faith, as the scriptures command, your heart becomes pure, and you can attain extreme happiness. Victory over these faults is difficult, but Baba's plan provides this simple path.
