However, it also notes that the bell struck at twelve-thirty, at which point the Dashami lunar day (tithi) was completed and the Ekadashi tithi began. Therefore, the actual moment of Baba's departure was during the Ekadashi tithi. The reason the day is still referred to as Dussehra (Vijayadashami) is explained in the text: the tithi that is active at sunrise is considered the official tithi for the entire day's celebrations and observances. So, while the departure technically happened on Ekadashi, the day itself was Vijayadashami.
