I invited Baba to my Udyapan ceremony, and he promised he would come. Why did he break his promise and deceive me? I waited and waited, but he never showed up.

📖 Chapter 40

It's understandable to feel disappointed, but Sai Baba clarifies that he did not deceive you or break his promise. As explained in Chapter 40, Baba stated that he attended your Udyapan ceremony in the guise of a Sanyasi. He even points out that he came twice: once alone to tell you he would return for the meal, and the second time with two other companions, exactly as he had mentioned. Baba emphasized, "I said I would come with two others, and I went with two others... for the sake of My word, I would die; but the words from My mouth shall never be otherwise." The issue was not that he failed to appear, but that his devotee, Dev, did not recognize him in the form he chose to take.
