I heard Gopalrao Gund wanted to rebuild the Masjid. What happened with that plan and what service was he able to perform instead?

Gopalrao Gund, a Revenue Circle Inspector and a devotee of Maharaj, indeed wished to rebuild the dilapidated Masjid. As the Introduction (Chapter 0) explains, he collected many stones for this purpose. However, Sai Baba did not grant him permission, stating that this particular work was destined for another devotee. Instead, with Maharaj's command, Gund's service took a different form. The stones he had gathered were repurposed to build the Shani temple in the village and to renovate other local temples. This shows how Maharaj guided his devotees' service according to a larger divine plan.
