I heard Balasaheb Deo took a vow about reading the Dnyaneshwari. What exactly was the resolution he made and why?

Balasaheb Deo's resolution came after a long period of frustration. Despite his strong desire, he found himself unable to maintain a daily reading of the Dnyaneshwari, a practice he successfully applied to other texts. According to Chapter 41, even his attempt to read just five verses daily did not happen with regularity. Distressed by this persistent failure, he made a firm resolve: he would not read the Dnyaneshwari at all until Sai Baba himself personally gave him the order to do so. He stated, "Only when Sai Himself gives love And says 'Read,' then will I start without any confusion." This vow was an act of surrender, placing the responsibility for fulfilling his spiritual desire entirely on his Guru.
