A devotee named Laxmichand, who was present, had a passing thought that the cough might be the result of someone's 'evil eye' affecting Baba. It was just a private mental thought. The next morning, when Laxmichand went to the masjid, Baba brought up the topic himself. He remarked to Madhavrao, 'Yesterday I had much coughing; is this the effect of an evil eye?'
