I find the concept of death frightening. What does Baba's story teach about overcoming this fear?

📖 Chapter 43

The narrative in Chapter 43 offers a powerful perspective to help alleviate the fear of death. It teaches that death is a natural process for the physical body, even calling it a 'state of happiness for the body.' The fear arises from our identification with the body. The text suggests that for the wise, who understand their true nature beyond the physical form, death loses its power. It states, 'Even before the body falls, he who has turned the body to ashes—what fear of death does he have? Death is like dust before him.' Sai Baba's own life exemplified this; he consciously chose to merge with the unmanifest. As Chapter 43 reveals, by simply remembering his name, the anxieties of birth and death can dissolve, connecting you to the eternal aspect of existence that he embodies.
