The story of Boss Dharamsee in Chapter 35 provides a powerful lesson for a skeptical mind. Dharamsee came to Shirdi with a critical attitude and a strong dislike for grapes with seeds. When Baba offered him those very grapes, his mind was filled with conflict, and he even questioned Baba's sainthood internally. Chapter 35 notes that 'a problem arose at the very beginning'. The turning point was not intellectual conviction but surrender; when Baba said, 'Throw them in and eat,' Dharamsee 'obeyed the command.' This act of setting aside his ego and judgment, even momentarily, opened the door to grace. The resulting miracle, where the grapes became seedless, caused his ego to drop away. This suggests that the path past doubt is often through an act of faith and surrender, however small.
I find it hard to let go of my doubts. What does the Satcharita say about dealing with a skeptical mind when approaching Sai?
