I feel like I have plenty of time for spiritual matters later in life. Why is there such an emphasis on urgency in these teachings?

📖 Chapter 8

The teachings stress immense urgency because life is incredibly fleeting and unpredictable. Chapter 8 explains that birth and death are constantly attached to us, and life can depart in an instant, "without even the ear touching the ear." Time is always counting down our lifespan, and like a flash of lightning, our existence is here one moment and gone the next. The text warns that thinking you can pursue spiritual goals in a future life is foolish, as obtaining a human body is a rare prize gained through immense merit. Wasting this opportunity is a grave error, as there's no guarantee you will receive this form again.
