How was the area around the Masjid prepared for the Chavadi procession, and what was the role of the horse Shyamakarna?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 37

As described in Chapter 37, the vicinity of the Masjid was elaborately prepared for the procession, creating a festive environment. Arches and 'toranas' (garlands) were set up at crossroads, flags fluttered high, and many rows of lamps were lit to illuminate the area. The horse Shyamakarna played a prominent role in the proceedings. He stood at the courtyard gate, resplendent in full decoration, before the procession began. During the procession, the copper-colored horse, with bells jingling on his feet, led the entire group, walking ahead of Baba and the other devotees on the way to the Chavadi.
