When Balabuva Satarkar expressed his desire to perform kirtan at Shirdi to Bhausahab Dixit, Dixit laid out the conditions clearly. As described in Chapter 6, Dixit explained that there was no certainty about receiving a fee, as giving or not giving was entirely in Sai Baba's hands. More importantly, he stated that explicit permission from Baba would be needed for the kirtan. Dixit then promised to ask for Baba's consent and to send a letter if it was granted.
