How was Baba's method of accepting Dakshina different from the norm, and what was the underlying purpose?

📖 Chapter 14

Sai Baba's approach to accepting Dakshina was highly unconventional. Chapter 14 notes that while the usual custom might involve offerings after other rituals, Baba's sequence was unusual. He would desire the offering of Dakshina right at the beginning of worship, even before sandalwood paste was applied. He would say, "Om Tat Sat, an offering to Brahman," demanding the offering immediately. The text suggests the purpose was to teach the proper use of wealth. As Chapter 14 clarifies, the intent of wealth should be to generate religious merit, which leads to knowledge and spiritual satisfaction, rather than being squandered on trivial desires.
