How severe was the 'Hadyavran' or bone-cyst mentioned in the Satcharitra, and why couldn't it be treated?

The patient's own uncle was a degree-holding doctor, and he, along with his physician friends and 'expert and intelligent surgeons,' became exhausted and felt helpless. The text explicitly states that all native and foreign treatments were tried, including surgery, but nothing succeeded and the ailment showed no improvement. The young boy was left to suffer from unbearable pain, indicating the condition was considered incurable by conventional means at the time.
