How is the Guru described in relation to God and family? What is their ultimate role in a disciple's life?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 18

The Guru is held in the highest esteem, described as God manifest on Earth. Chapter 18 explicitly states that the Guru is Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwara, and is essentially the Supreme Lord, the Brahman beyond the beyond. The text goes further, equating the Guru to a mother and father. It highlights the Guru's unique position as a protector, noting that the Guru can protect you even when God is angry, but if the Guru becomes angry, there is no one who can protect you. The Guru's role is all-encompassing, serving as a guide to righteousness and the one who opens the eyes of the intellect to the Self.
