The transformation of the Buti Wada into the Samadhi Mandir was a direct result of Sai Baba's last words. Although the structure was built to house an idol of Murlidhar, Baba fell critically ill as it neared completion. This caused great anxiety for its patron, Bapusaheb Buti. However, Chapter 39 reveals that the mansion's "great fortune was realized" through Sai's own command. Just before leaving his body, Baba's final instruction was, "Place me in the mansion." This statement resolved all uncertainty for the devotees. Following his passing, they placed his holy body in the inner sanctum, the very spot intended for the Murlidhar idol, thereby converting the mansion into the sacred Samadhi Mandir.
