How does the text explain the relationship between Maya, bondage, and the role of a Guru?

📖 Chapter 50

Chapter 50 explains that Maya is the supreme, indescribable illusion of name and form, and that any pulse of imagination is its dwelling place. Maya possesses two ancient powers: one that creates a state of bondage and another that leads to liberation from that bondage. Ignorance, which leads to bondage, manifests from doubt ('vikalpa'). The text emphasizes that this ignorance "cannot be removed without a Guru." It even gives an example of a supreme knower, Shuka, who suffered loss due to doubt. The Guru's role is therefore essential to dispel the doubt and ignorance spawned by Maya, purifying the mind so that true knowledge can manifest and lead to non-dual Samadhi and liberation.
