How does the text describe the manifestation of ignorance and pride in a person's life?

📖 Chapter 50

According to the excerpts from Chapter 50, ignorance (Avidya or Maya) manifests in very personal and tangible ways. It is the root of the delusion expressed in the thought, "I am the body, mine are wife and home." This attachment is further described as being surrounded by the "ropes of thirst for sons, cattle, etc." The text also highlights intellectual pride as a major cause for dissatisfaction. It describes individuals who, considering themselves "skilled in scriptures" and believing "there is no other equal to me," are trapped by this great pride. These forms of attachment and pride are identified as the very essence of Maya, which must be removed to attain knowledge.
