How does the scripture explain the concept of birth and death for enlightened beings like Sai Baba?

📖 Chapter 43

Chapter 43 provides a deep philosophical explanation. It defines birth as the 'union of body and senses' and death as their 'separation.' However, for saints who incarnate by their own will purely for the welfare of devotees, these concepts are considered 'false imaginations.' The scripture states that such great souls have already conquered death, placing their 'feet on the head of Time.' Sai Baba, being the 'complete Supreme Brahman,' is described as being devoid of bodily impulses and consciousness. As Chapter 43 clarifies, death for saints is like an eclipse—a mere defect of vision for the observer, not a reality for the saint who is beyond such physical limitations and is one with the unmanifest.
