How does the role of an avatar relate to a saint's experience of birth and death?

As detailed in Chapter 43, saints take on various avatars by their own will, with the sole desire for the welfare and salvation of their devotees. They are not bound by the cycle of birth and death. They become manifest to perform the task of the avatar for the people, which is how they become fulfilled. For these beings, who can place their feet on the head of Time, birth and death are false imaginations that do not touch them. Their existence is a spontaneous play for the sake of their followers' spiritual journeys.
