As detailed in Chapter 43, saints are those for whom the feeling of duality has completely vanished; they are filled with their true form. Because they are established in the truth of Brahman, the world is seen as an illusion, or Maya. Consequently, they have no consciousness of the body as being their true self. For those happy in the bliss of Brahman, the delusion of Maya cannot touch them. Since the fear of death is rooted in attachment to the physical body and the illusory world, a saint who sees through this illusion has no reason to fear. Death and birth are seen as false imaginations within this Maya.
How does the philosophy of non-duality and the concept of 'Maya' explain why saints do not fear death?
