At the beginning of Chapter 43, the author Hemadpant expresses his profound devotion by offering salutations and prostrations to his Sadguru, Sainath. He states that he is merely sketching Sai's life story and that it is Sai himself who creates the love and devotion in his heart. Hemadpant believes that the remembrance and devotional singing (bhajan or kirtan) of saints like Sai is the only easy means to wash away accumulated sins and purify the inner self.
