How does surrendering to a Satguru help one overcome the fear of worldly existence and death?

📖 Chapter 37

According to Chapter 37, surrendering to a Satguru is the primary method for eliminating the fear of worldly existence, of which death is the greatest component. The process involves a complete surrender of one's body, speech, mind, and even the five life-breaths (pranas). By merging one's intellect and being entirely subordinate to the Guru, the Guru in turn removes the devotee's worries. The text rhetorically asks, "when one surrenders to the Satguru, what talk is there of the fear of worldly existence?" The Guru grants the "non-dual intellect," which directly counters the fear that arises from a sense of separation and duality, ultimately leading to fearlessness.
