How does ignorance or Maya manifest in a person's life, particularly in someone who considers themselves wise?

📖 Chapter 50

As described in Chapter 50, Maya, or ignorance, manifests in daily life through deep-seated attachments and pride. It fosters the delusion of identifying with the physical body and possessions, expressed as "I am the body, mine are wife and home." This leads people to be entangled in the ropes of thirst for sons, cattle, and other worldly things. The text points out that even those who are learned and skilled in scriptures can be ensnared. They may call themselves wise 'Pandits' but are filled with great pride, thinking, "there is no other equal to me." This pride is identified as a direct cause of dissatisfaction and a primary form of Maya. The first step towards true knowledge is to recognize and remove these initial delusions of attachment and pride.
