How does Chapter 35 describe the attitude of certain people towards Sai Baba before they met him, and what happened to their resolve?

In Chapter 35, it is described that certain individuals held a skeptical view of Sai Baba. They considered themselves worshippers of the formless and believed saints with a physical form were an illusion. They specifically objected to giving monetary offerings (Dakshina) and resolved that they would visit Shirdi but would not bow their heads or offer any payment. However, the chapter explains that this firm resolve was completely shattered upon meeting Sai. Through the sheer power of his darshan, or viewing, they forgot their prior logic and pride, and ended up surrendering and bowing at his feet just as others did.
