How does Chapter 33 explain the purpose of the constantly burning Dhuni and the practice of giving Vibhuti?

📖 Chapter 33

Chapter 33 of the Shri Sai Satcharita explains that the constantly burning sacred fire, or Dhuni, and the distribution of its ash (Vibhuti) were central to Sai Baba's teachings. Baba would offer firewood into the Dhuni, and the resulting Udi was given to all devotees. The purpose of this ritual was to impart a critical spiritual insight: the entire universe is pervaded by Maya (illusion), and its physical form is impermanent. The ash signifies that everything, including our own bodies, will eventually become ash. By giving the Vibhuti, Baba was providing a tangible reminder to maintain this awareness and to understand that Brahman alone is the eternal, unchanging reality.
