How does Chapter 23 explain the soul's delusion and the prescribed path to liberation from it?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 23

Chapter 23 of the Sai Satcharitra explains that the soul's fundamental delusion stems from Maya, which causes it to forget its true nature of Existence-Consciousness-Bliss (Sacchidananda). Under this delusion, the soul identifies with the body, developing pride and the false notion that "I am the doer, I am the enjoyer," which leads to a succession of calamities. The chapter clearly states that the only way to calm these calamities and escape this cycle is through loving devotion (Bhakti Yoga) at the feet of the Guru. The Guru, like Sai Baba, is an 'extraordinary master' who can apply the 'ointment' of knowledge, color the devotee in His own hue, and guide them back to their true, blissful nature, ultimately leading to peace and contentment.
