How does Chapter 19 describe the relationship between the Soul and the body, and what are its consequences?

📖 Chapter 19

According to Chapter 19, the relationship between the Soul (Atma) and the body is an extraordinary and unavoidable exception to the rule that friendship exists between those of similar nature. The body is described as perishable, while the Soul is changeless and imperishable. Despite their fundamental differences, their affection is so immense that one cannot bear to be without the other. It is this very love and their inseparable connection that perpetuates the cycle of worldly existence, also known as Samsara. The text emphasizes that the Soul is distinct from the body, senses, and mind, and the ego of identifying as the body is a false bondage.
