How do the roles of the senses and the mind change as a person approaches the state of liberation or Brahman?

📖 Chapter 17

As a person nears the state of liberation, the functions of the senses and mind must undergo a profound transformation. Chapter 17 explains that one must achieve a state where the five senses of knowledge, such as hearing and sight, are abandoned by their respective objects. This involves a restraint of the senses and a reversal of natural tendencies. The mind must renounce thoughts and doubts by its own will, and the intellect must give up its function of deciding. Instead of being oriented toward worldly objects, the senses turn toward the Self, which is the only way true happiness can reveal itself.
