How did witnessing Baba grind wheat affect the narrator, Hemadpant?

📖 Chapter 1

The narrator, Hemadpant, was profoundly affected by witnessing Baba's act of grinding wheat. According to Chapter 1, his mind was initially filled with "great wonder," as he could not comprehend why a detached saint would undertake such a task. The seemingly illogical connection between grinding wheat and its ultimate effect—curing the village of a cholera epidemic—left him amazed at the "inconceivable cause and effect." This powerful experience stirred his emotions deeply, making him feel as if "love surged in his heart." It was this very event that inspired him to write a book, the Shri Sai Satcharitra, in order to sing the sweet stories and divine plays of Baba for all to hear.
