According to the account in Chapter 1, the villagers reacted with pure astonishment. While men and women gathered to watch this unusual divine play, they kept their distance, as no one had the courage to question Baba. The women, however, reacted more directly. The text describes how four women ran into the mosque, hurried up to Baba, and physically took the grinding handle from his hands to take over the task.
