How did the Sanyasi arrange the meal at Dev's house after being told to return later for donations?

As narrated in Chapter 40, after being initially turned away, the Sanyasi returned about a month later. Instead of asking for money again, he arrived at Dev's house around ten o'clock, the time for Brahmin meals. Sensing Dev's restlessness, he directly addressed the situation by saying, "I am not in a hurry for money. 'I haven't come for money; today we want a meal.'" He also mentioned he had two companions. When Dev asked where he was lodging, the Sanyasi deflected, simply asking when he should arrive for the meal. Dev then invited him to come with his 'children' (companions) at twelve o'clock, an invitation the Sanyasi accepted, returning at the exact time.
