How did the Ram Navami celebration in Shirdi become the grand annual festival it is today?

The establishment of the grand Ram Navami festival was a progressive development. In the early years, as noted in Chapter 6, devotees like Kaka Mahajani would arrange for a kirtankar, such as Balabuva Satarkar, to perform for the occasion. Balabuva's performance was a great success, pleasing Sai Baba and fulfilling the desires of the devotees. The text states that the festival was formally and permanently established later on when Dasganu came to Shirdi. He prayed to Baba and had the annual festival formally instituted. From that point forward, the birth festival began to be celebrated with great pomp, including a feast for all, and the joyous chanting of Sai's name filled the air.
