How did the practice of worshipping Sai Baba and performing Aarti begin and evolve?

📖 Chapter 0

According to the account in Chapter 0, Sai Baba initially did not even allow himself to be worshipped. The first person he accepted worship from was Mhalasapati. Later, he showed anger towards Sitaram Dengle for attempting worship but allowed it to be completed. The turning point came when he peacefully permitted Nanasaheb Chandorkar's son, Bapu, to perform worship, after which everyone was granted permission. The practice of Aarti came later. The text states that the honor of performing the very first Aarti went to Tatyasaheb Noolkar, a Munsif from Pandharpur who came to Shirdi to spend his final days at Baba's feet.
