How did the person who came to be known as Sai Baba first arrive in Shirdi and receive his name?

📖 Chapter 0

Maharaj first arrived in Shirdi as part of a wedding procession for the nephew of Chandbhai's wife. According to Chapter 0, this procession stopped near the Khandoba temple, where Maharaj met a man named Mhalasapati. Upon seeing Maharaj, who was wearing a kafni and a cap, Mhalasapati spontaneously welcomed him with the words "Aavo Sai Baba," which means "Come, Sai Baba." Maharaj held onto this name for the rest of his life, even stating in a later testimony, "They call me Sai Baba."
