How did the person known as Sai Baba receive his name?

The individual who would become known as Sai Baba received his famous name upon arriving in Shirdi. When he entered the Khandoba temple, a resident goldsmith and devotee named Mhalasapati greeted him with the words "Aavo Sai Baba," which means "Come, Sai Baba." As detailed in the Introduction (Chapter 0), the holy man held onto this name for the rest of his life. When later asked his name during a commission's testimony, he simply replied, "They call me Sai Baba," confirming the name given to him by Mhalasapati.
