How did the grocers react after they witnessed the lamps burning on water?

📖 Chapter 5

After denying Baba oil and watching to see what he would do, the grocers were completely astonished by the ensuing miracle. Chapter 5 describes that upon seeing the water burn like oil, they "put their fingers in their mouths" in amazement. They immediately felt repentance, admitting to themselves that they had lied and done something wrong. As the lamps continued to burn all night without a drop of oil, the grocers, feeling unworthy of Sai's grace, began to "tremble everywhere," realizing the power of Baba and the sin they had committed by causing him trouble.
