How did the book about Sai Baba's life, the Shri Sai Satcharita, come to be written?

The creation of the book about Sai Baba's life was a direct result of His divine will and compassion. As described in Chapter 2, when the author felt the desire to compile a collection of stories, Sai Baba granted His full permission and support. Baba famously stated, "He is merely a pretext; I myself shall write my own story!" He instructed that the author must dissolve his ego and surrender completely at His feet. In return for this surrender, Sai Baba promised to provide full assistance, not just for the story, but in all aspects of the devotee's life. This shows that the work was considered to be accomplished by Baba, with the author serving only as an instrument.
