How did the annual Ram Navami fair in Shirdi come into existence despite initial opposition?

📖 Chapter 0

The idea for an annual fair, or Urs, to honor Maharaj was first proposed by the devotee Gopalrao Gund. He shared this vision with Tatya Patil, Dada Kote Patil, and Madhavrao Deshpande, who liked the idea and agreed to organize it. However, as documented in Chapter 0, they faced an obstacle from the local Kulkarni, which resulted in a collector issuing an order prohibiting the fair. Despite this setback, they persevered and eventually obtained a counter-order permitting the celebration. Ultimately, it was by Maharaj's direct command that the fair was set to be held on the auspicious day of Ram Navami, a tradition that has continued ever since.
