How did the annual Ram Navami fair in Shirdi begin, and what traditions are associated with it?

The annual fair in Shirdi began with an idea from the devotee Gopalrao Gund, who wished to hold a Jatra or Urs in honor of Maharaj. As detailed in Chapter 0, he presented this idea to Tatya Patil, Dada Kote Patil, and Madhavrao Deshpande, who all agreed to organize it. Despite initial obstacles from the local Kulkarni, they secured the necessary permission. By Maharaj's command, the fair was established to be held on Ram Navami. A key tradition of this fair involves a grand procession where two large ceremonial flags are taken to the Masjid.
