How did Sai Baba view and interact with other people, specifically men and women?

According to the Shri Sai Satcharitra, Sai Baba's actions were often incomprehensible and marvelous. In his interactions, he held a clear and consistent approach to his relationships with others. Chapter 37 explains that he held brotherhood with men and treated all women as his sisters or mothers. He was known to all, at all times, as a celibate (Urdhvareta). This conduct was part of his sacred life-story and his unhindered, sharp-edged vow, which was likened to the edge of a sword.
