How did Sai Baba use financial hardship to teach a lesson to his devotee Kashiram?

📖 Chapter 0

The story of Kashiram provides a powerful example of Baba's methods for teaching his devotees. As detailed in Chapter 0, Kashiram was a devoted follower who served Maharaj with his body, mind, and wealth, even offering his entire money bag. However, he developed pride in his ability to give, feeling distressed if Baba did not accept his Dakshina. To remove this spiritual obstacle, Baba orchestrated a period of financial difficulty for Kashiram. During this time, Baba ironically began a 'barrage of demanding Dakshina,' forcing Kashiram to borrow until he could no longer do so. This entire 'Leela' was designed to make Kashiram realize that he did not possess the inherent power to give, thus humbling him and clearing his path for spiritual progress.
