How did Sai Baba teach one of his devotees a lesson about the pride of giving money?

📖 Chapter 0

Sai Maharaj taught his devotee Kashiram a profound lesson about the pride that can accompany giving. Initially, Kashiram was very wealthy and felt immense pride in giving Dakshina to Maharaj, feeling hurt on days his offering wasn't taken. As detailed in Chapter 0, Maharaj, with his resolve to remove obstacles from a devotee's spiritual path, started demanding a barrage of Dakshina from Kashiram. This led to Kashiram's financial ruin, forcing him to borrow from a grocer until even that source dried up. This entire Leela was designed to make Kashiram realize that he did not truly possess the 'power to give.' Once this pride was eliminated, his prosperity was restored.
