How did Sai Baba teach his devotee Kashiram a lesson about the pride associated with giving?

๐Ÿ“– Chapter 0

Chapter 0 explains that Kashiram, a total devotee of Maharaj, developed pride from his ability to give Dakshina, feeling distressed when Maharaj wouldn't accept it. Since pride is an obstacle to spiritual progress, Maharaj orchestrated a leela to remove it. First, Kashiram began to face financial difficulties. Then, Maharaj started a "barrage of demanding Dakshina from him," compelling Kashiram to borrow money until even the grocer refused him. This humbling experience made Kashiram realize he did not truly have the power to give. As soon as he learned this lesson, his financial condition improved, and his anxiety about giving Dakshina vanished completely.
