Chapter 44 of the Shri Sai Satcharitra provides a detailed account of Sai Baba's final moments. Knowing his end was near, Baba spent two full weeks, fourteen days and nights, in focused contemplation, listening to a Brahmin recite the Ramayana. He attained the state of bodilessness, or passed away, on the day of Vijayadashami. As detailed in Chapter 44, a debate immediately began between his Hindu and Muslim devotees, which lasted for twenty-six hours, concerning how to perform the final rites and where to locate his Samadhi, or tomb. This period was filled with uncertainty and deliberation among the followers.
How did Sai Baba spend his final days, and what happened immediately after he passed away?
